How would you like to help Listen for Life win a Heritage Fund Grant? Listen for Life, a global nonprofit music-media organization dedicated to the preservation and advancement of music culture worldwide, is one of seven finalists for the EMC Heritage Trust Grant. Listen for Life has recorded hundreds of hours of amazing performances by master musicians from all over the world. With this grant, they will be able to take the recordings out of storage, digitize them and make them available online to everyone. Travels With Music, a K-12 multimedia program that uses music to explore cultures will be directly impacted if Listen for Life wins a grant. The program currently explores the richness of 15 world cultures – Bulgaria, Chile, China, India, Indonesia, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Senegal, the Philippines, Trinidad and the USA – through the use of 300 video and audio segments that comprise six hours of instruction. Travels With Music is ideal for instruction in history, geography, cultural diversity, music, tolerance, and more. If awarded the grant, Travels With Music will offer even more recordings from a variety of cultures. The only way Listen for Life can obtain a grant is with votes. Voting is open to the public now through noon Eastern this Friday, August 15, 2014 at the links below: Desktop voting: http://emc.im/1nbMg08 http://emc.im/1nbMg08 Mobile voting: http://emc.im/1q1eGbS Spread the word on social media by sharing or retweeting their posts on Facebook and Twitter.
