This is interesting: Grain is a software application that integrates with Zoom conferencing. Educators and students can use it to record, transcribe, and make short highlights of Zoom calls in remote learning.
Grain’s web application
– automatically stores Zoom recordings which educators can share with colleagues and students.
– transcribes the Zoom recording which offers alternatives for students who prefer reading over video learning.
– the transcription also makes it possible to clip a portion of the call and create a “highlight.”
For example, if a student did not understand a certain section of a lesson, then the student could highlight the transcript and share the “highlight” with their teacher for further questions.
Grain’s desktop application
– allows a teacher or student to make notes during the calls (with words or emojis) to mark certain aspects of the lesson (along a timestamp) for further review in the Grain web application.
